March 2009 Bahamas Baptist Community College - Bahamas "Youth Empowerment Challenge" Blue Ribbon training facilitated by the Bahamas Baptist Community College involving college students, high school students nominated by their teachers, and community members. A powerful event with the Minister of Youth and Sports, President of the College and a representative for the Minister of Education all taking part in the opening ceremonies. Difference Makers International's Standing Strong TogetherTM Community Building Program begins for Sweetwater School District in San Diego, CA! Initial workshop for 800 students from each classroom, from every school within district come together with community leaders (firefighters, government, city officials) for 3 hour workshop. Students return to their schools and teach 5,000 peers a 30- or 50-minute Blue Ribbon program, with outreach to 15,000 in the community!
